Tividale suffered a 3-0 league defeat against Cheadle after a closely contested first half was undone by mistakes after the break. The opening 45 minutes was a competitive affair, with both sides battling for control and neither able to find the breakthrough. Tivi remained organised defensively, competed well and went into the interval level at 0-0 with the game still very much there to be won. The frustration came after the restart. Three individual errors ultimately proved costly, with Cheadle showing the ruthlessness required to punish each mistake and take control of the contest. Despite the final scoreline, there were positives to take from the opening half, but the performance also highlighted the need to maintain those standards across the full 90 minutes. Being competitive for periods of games is not enough, and the challenge for the group is now to produce that level of concentration, intensity and discipline from the first whistle to the last. Tividale also know more is required going forward. Creating more chances, offering a greater threat in behind and playing with increased aggression across the pitch will be key as the side looks to turn competitive performances into points. Ultimately, the 3-0 scoreline was a disappointing one after going into half-time level, but the focus now turns towards responding quickly and ensuring lessons are taken from the defeat.
