Tividale 1-5 Brocton
By Club Press Office
Full-time at The Beeches: Tividale 1-5 Brocton. On target: Josh Newbold.
Tividale’s FA Vase campaign came to an end following a disappointing 5-1 defeat against Brocton. It was a frustrating afternoon for Tivi, who struggled to reach the standards that had been shown in recent performances. Brocton were organised, aggressive and clinical throughout, and ultimately deserved their place in the next round. Tividale never really managed to gain control of the contest, with Brocton making the most of their opportunities and punishing mistakes when they came. Despite moments where Tivi looked capable of causing problems, the performance lacked the consistency and intensity required in a knockout fixture. The hosts continued to apply pressure as the game developed, and Tividale found themselves with an increasingly difficult task. Although Tivi managed to get on the scoresheet, it proved to be little more than a consolation as Brocton maintained control and added further goals. The 5-1 scoreline made for a difficult result to take, particularly after signs of improvement over the previous weeks, but there could be few complaints with the outcome on the day. Attention now turns back to league action, where the focus will be on responding positively, improving the level of performance and making sure the standards expected across the group are met.
