Full-time at the road: Sporting Khalsa 4-0 Tividale.
Tividale suffered a difficult evening on the road on Tuesday night, falling to a 4-0 defeat against Sporting Khalsa in the Midland Football League Premier Division. Coming up against a Khalsa side who were playing at Step 4 last season, the challenge was always going to provide another tough test for a young and developing Tividale group. The opening stages were relatively competitive, with Tividale working hard to stay organised and frustrate the hosts. Khalsa, however, gradually began to take greater control of possession and territory, eventually finding the breakthrough to take a 1-0 advantage into half-time. At the break, Tividale remained very much in the contest and there were positives to take from the first-half performance. The challenge was to maintain those levels while showing greater quality and belief when opportunities arose to play forward. The second half proved much more difficult. Khalsa began to make their experience and quality count, increasing the tempo and putting the Tividale defence under sustained pressure. As the game became stretched, the hosts added further goals and ultimately took the contest away from Tividale. A late penalty completed the scoring as Sporting Khalsa ran out 4-0 winners. The scoreline was a disappointing one for Tividale, but another evening that highlighted the standards required against one of the stronger and more experienced sides in the division. For a new-look squad still building relationships and understanding, the focus remains on learning quickly, becoming more consistent across the full 90 minutes and ensuring that positive periods within games begin to translate into results. There is no hiding away from the result, but the work continues. The group will return to training looking to respond, improve and keep moving forward together.
